Gifts, Baskets and Ideas

Christmas gift basket ideas for 10 and 13 year old boys?

Just for something different this year I thought I'd put together gift baskets for my two nephews this christmas. I'm looking for theme ideas and what to put into it. Their parents are very well off so they already have most things so I'm looking for rather unique ideas.

  1. Perhaps airsoft or paintball unless the parents disapprove.
  2. xbox 360 and a hd tv set *pow* an ed hardy outfit
  3. Seriously what the kids would love is a gift card rather than a basket. Take whatever money you would have spent on a basket of stuff, and give them a gift card to Wal-Mart. It will be their favorite gift! Whatever your best intentions are, you will inevitably spend good money on stuff they don't think is cool. Boys this age don't appreciate the sentiment. But a gift card, they can get anything they want, whether it is an article of clothing, a video game, a CD - Wal-mart has a good variety of stuff.
  4. Guns with plenty of ammo. Depending on how relaxed the parents are, and how deep your pockets are, I'd go with Paintball, BB/Pellet, or Airsoft, in that order. Include masks, spare air tanks, targets, and anything else you can think of that goes with each kind. Last resort - Nerf or something else that shoots something soft and made of foam or rubber will for sure be fun for the 10 year old and is still on the fun side for the 13 year old. They will be able to pester pets and relatives with this option :D
  5. get them a gift card or money son they can buy their own gifts. my mum did that for my cousins and they simply adoooored that idea! Help here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AtFwrk0RMQpcQ6KUZ0cxpebsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090919224238AAmCOWE
  6. If your heart is set on baskets...you could make one with tiny assorted presents. Wrap each one individually, then get a bigger box, a box that would sit in the center of the basket and stuff it with a bunch of tissue placing a gift card in there. That way they get alot of -cool, cheap, maybe even candy,- presents and one big gift card that they can use to buy whatever they want!
  7. Christmas gifts has become such a commercial over exposed issue. In my basket last year I gave a gift card to buy whatever they wanted. But I also put a card which was bought in an organisation that helps children in refugee champs. It included a contract which the children could make a donation every month, with 5 % of their pocket money. Having a choise to say yes or no. I have 9 grandchildren and they all was generouse enough to share with children in need, Not only for X-mas, but on yearly bases. Worth a try, in our world of greed????

  9. Gizmos are mostly inexpensive and impresses people all the time. A good theme you could use is 'carnival party toys'. For one, it's suitable for boys of all ages, and they will definitely spend ages exploring these games. Do check them out: (it says drinking games for some of them, but its very easily substitutable) http://www.ozgadgets.com.au/toys-games/party-games Card game with a twist: http://www.ozgadgets.com.au/house-of-cards-playing-cards.html beach towel: http://www.ozgadgets.com.au/twister-beach-towel.html Hope it helps!
